Annual Report for Society Meeting April 2021-March 2022

12th July 2021 was another mile stone of the school as the school got up gradation to senior secondary level from CBSE Board. On 15th May Class Xth CBSE result was declared. Twenty two students had appeared for class Xth board exam and all of them passed out with good percentage.

On April 4th we started the New Session. Online classes for I to VIII and offline classes for IX and X. Teachers were coming to school for both online and offline classes. Due to sudden spread of covid, offline classes were stopped and teachers also were asked to take class from home.

In the month of November 2021, we began offline class for IX and X officially, as permission was granted from West Bengal Govt. Lockdown continued up to 31st Jan 2022.

Offline regular classes started for all on 21st February2022. There was a special assembly and a short program organized by the teachers to welcome all the students back to school after two years of gap. The Total number of new admission for the session was 116. The strength of the school was 551.
The total number of teaching staff is 25 and non-teaching staff 7.

Competitions

All the competitions and co-curricular activities, like speech,dance,poem recitation, drawing, handwriting and fancy dress of the entire session were conducted online in different times. The winners were given out the incentives at the end of the session.

Celebrations

Republic Day

Republic Day was celebrated and Sr. Celine Jose was the chief guest for the occasion. There was a short program presented by teachers, candidates and few students from nearby.

Independence Day

Independence Day was celebrated online. On this occasion various competitions and activities were conducted for the students. In the school the National Flag was hoisted by Sr. Margret. Community sisters and candidates were part of this event.

Teachers Day

Teachers Day was celebrated in the school. Students of class IX and X had prepared a beautiful cultural program on this day.

School day

School day was celebrated online. Teachers, along with the students prepared a meaningful prayer service and cultural program. It was recorded and shared in our YouTube channel.

Diwali

Diwali was celebrated in the school campus. It was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy by the students of class IX, X and all the teachers. Students made rangoli , decorated it with diyas at the entrance of the school.

Children's Day

Children's Day was celebrated on virtual platform. Group song and group dance were performed by the teachers, it was recorded and the video was uploaded in the official school page.

Orange Day

Orange Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm on 24th Nov,2021. All the male teachers had arranged a short virtual programme with the help of the students of various classes for all the female members of our school.

Pre-Christmas celebration

Pre-Christmas celebration was held in the school. There was Christmas play and carol singing, performed by the teachers and the students of class IX and X.

Women's Day

Women's Day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm. All the mothers of our students were invited to witness the special assembly and a short cultural program conducted by the students and the teachers.

Exams and classes

Most of the exams were conducted online for class I to VIII. Class IX and X had offline exam keeping the covid protocols. Class work and home work copies were collected and correctedby the teachers in the school time to time.Annual exam was conducted offline for all the classes in the month of March. Annual result was given out on 26th March 2022.

Seminars and meetings

Seminarwas organized for the students of class VIII, IX and X by Fr. Xavier S.J, from Matigarah He made the students aware and gave tips to become a holistic person. Students benefitted from the sessions and were happy to have such kind of orientation. Teachers had to go through different kinds of seminars and courses conducted by CBSE. Parents meeting were held for all the classes in different times and were discussed on various concerns of the students. Meeting was held with the drivers of the different vehicles, running for our school, to discuss about the proper transportation facility to the students, ensuring safety of each child. At the end of the meeting all were asked to submit the proper documents of the vehicles and license of all the drivers in the school.

A Day of Relaxation and Fun

Class X students were taken to Murti for an outing along with the few teachers.

Beyond academic curriculum

Hundred saplings were planted in the school campus by NGOs from Siliguri. During pandemic our teachers also took the initiative to contribute to help out the poor. All of them collected money and helped one of our students Sagnik Saha, from Rajganj, who lost his father due to covid. Since many of our students and guardians were affected by corona, we conducted a prayer meeting online with the students to express our prayerful support and solidarity during pandemic. In the month of January 2022 Covishield free vaccination camp was held in the school premises for the students of age 15 to 18 years for first dose. And in February second dose was given.

 


Annual Report for April 2019-March 2020

6th May was a Red Letter Day for all the staff and students of Holy Cross School, Balaigach, as the result of our first batch students was announced. It was an amazing experience to see all students passed out with good percentage.

New initiatives

The new initiatives which were taken in this year were cricket and football coaching and enrollment of our school in DCSGS (District Council for Games and Sports). Now on our students can move out of Balaigach for any kinds of games and sports competition arranged by Jalpaiguri District.

School Activities

Games and Sports

There was Inter House Games competition in the month of August, Football for the boys and kabbadi for girls. On 22nd August Cricket match was conducted by the cricket coach. The winners were given prizes.

On 6th Dec, the 4th Annual Sports Meet was held in the school. The chief guest for the occasion was Mr. Anil Kumar Singh, The commandant of 65 Bn. BSF,Radhabari, Jalpaiguri. He helped us in putting up the tents for guardians and students and with many needed things for the day.

Students move for competitions out of Balaigach

Our students participated for the first time in the Inter School Cricket and Football match competition in Delhi Public School. In the month of December students played football match in district level in Jalpaiguri. Since it was first time, they could not win the matches but their performance and discipline was remarkable and praise worthy. Children participated in athletics, chess, yoga and gymnastic competition in zonal and district level. Many of them won medals

In November IAKO National Kickboxing Championship was held in Radhabari BSF Camp. Our students were fortunate to take part in this great and important event

Inter House talent Expo

16th to 19th October Inter House Talent Competition was conducted. Children grew up into a healthy competitive attitude. They got the opportunity to explore themselves in the verities of activities. Incentives were given to the winners.

Celebrations

Teachers day

Teachers day was celebrated with much pomp and show. Children had put up a colorful program as a token of love and respect to their teachers.

Children’s Day

A meaningful prayer service and a short program was arranged by the teachers. Children enjoyed seeing their teachers performing on the stage.

Orange Day

Orange Day was observed in the school. During the assembly speech and role play was presented. After the assemblyall the boys expressed their love and respect to all the girls by exchanging handmade crafts which were of orange color.

Pre-Christmas celebration

We had Christmas gathering on 21st December. Students presented Christmas play and each class came up with Christmas song

Republic Day

Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic spirit. Sr. Grace Mary was the chief guest for the occasion. There was patriotic group song competition. Children performed very well. They exhibited their creativity and team spirit

Workshops and Seminars

Teachers Seminar was conducted in the school in the month of August, on the topic transaction Analysis. They also participated in the Capacity Building Programme arranged by CBSE in different schools and in different time on various topics. English, Hindi and PT teachers got chance to participate in workshop, which were conducted by the book publishers. It was profitable. On 19th June, students from VI to X had one-day seminar. It was profitable and motivational.

Token of Gratitude

On 17th May2019, the school gave a heart touching farewell to Sr. Susan, who worked for six years and brought up the school with her tireless effort. On 28th January the outgoing students, the second batch of the school were given farewell.

A Day of Relaxation and Fun

Class X students had an outing to Leesh River, Bakrakote along with the few teachers. And in the month of January there was staff picnic to Jhalong, to Bindu, the Bhutan boarder.

Beyond academic curriculum

In the month of September, a group TATA conducted an essay writing completion on the topic My Best Teacher. The best writer and the best teacher whose name was mentioned by the students, both were awarded with certificates and prize

Minerva result of 2018 was given out. Many students got prizes and were encouraged to participate in this kind of examination. In the month of September 2019 exam was conducted.
